Before beginning any type of exercise program,

consult with Dr. Moore.

Exercise aims to maintain or enhance our physical fitness and general health. Often the word “exercise” conjures up images of a gym full of weights, treadmills and other equipment. However, exercise is as simple as going for a walk. Nothing complicated. No massive machines. Just moving the body and increasing your heart rate.

Intensities of Exercise

Light: The exerciser is able to talk while exercising, i.e. walking.
Moderate: The exerciser feels slightly out of breath during the session, i.e. walking briskly, cycling moderately, or walking up a hill.
Vigorous: The exerciser is panting during the activity, i.e. running, cycling fast, and heavy weight training.

Most of us know how beneficial exercise is for our health, but we don’t exercise. Create an exercise goal that includes exercising 30 minutes at least 3 times a week. Your goal is to create healthy habits which will benefit you the rest of your life.
If you have questions about beginning or modifying your exercise habit, please talk with us. We want to help you BE HEALTHY BY DESIGN!
